How can Indiba help Erectile Dysfunction (ED)?

March 27, 2023

Erectile dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence, is a medical condition that affects the ability of men to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity. ED can occur at any age but is more common in older men.

Erections are caused by a complex interaction of hormones, nerve signals, and blood vessels. ED happens when there is an interruption in this process. The most common cause of ED is reduced blood flow to the penis or nerve damage that affects the penis. Other factors that can contribute to ED include psychological or emotional factors, such as stress, anxiety, or depression, and certain medical conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure.

Symptoms of ED include difficulty achieving an erection, difficulty maintaining an erection, and decreased sexual desire.

There are several treatments for ED, including medications that improve blood flow to the penis, such as sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), or vardenafil (Levitra), hormone replacement therapy, penile injections or suppositories, and penile implants. In some cases, talk therapy or couples therapy may also be helpful to address psychological or emotional factors contributing to ED.

Indiba therapy, also known as radiofrequency therapy, is a non-invasive treatment that works by increasing blood flow to the affected area by increasing tissue permeability and reducing edema, inflammation, and oxidative stress.

The RF energy (non-invasive and painless) produces stimulates the production of collagen in the deep layers of various body tissues, including the penile erectile tissues. The collagen fibers’ role is to provide the necessary firmness, tone, and structure for an erection.

The aim of the treatment is to restore normal erectile function by the formation of collagen fibers. The tunica albuginea (containing a lot of collagen fibers) is
the tissue required for the erectile mechanism and is crossed with veins responsible for draining the blood from the penis. During arousal, the elastic collagen fibers enable the tunica albuginea to trap the blood in the penis the erection is achieved.

Unfortunately, in our late 30s and 40s, we produce less high-quality collagen in the tunica albuginea resulting in dysfunction. The tissue loses its elasticity and rigidity and it cannot maintain the closure of the veins resulting in failure to achieve or maintain an erection.

On average, men notice an improvement in performance after 2 or 3 visits with maximum results by visit 9. Results are maintained without additional treatment for 3-8 months on average depending on the initial cause of the ED and the number of treatments. Uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure can reduce the length of time that someone’s results will last. Men who don’t respond to medication do have an 85% response rate to our protocol. Most patients return for follow-up treatments every 1-2 months for a single treatment to prevent losing any progress.
